Chicken Drumstick Biryani by Fariyal Salman

Ingredients:

  • Rice 1/2 kg
  • Chicken drumsticks 6
  • Oil as required
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Red pepper crushed 1/2 tbsp
  • Black pepper crushed 1/2 tsp
  • Yellow color 1 pinch
  • Ginger garlic paste as required
  • Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Chili garlic sauce 1 tbsp
  • Onion 3
  • Tomatoes 3
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Mix whole spices as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Biryani masala 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Saffron 1 pinch
  • Cumin seeds as required

Method:

  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, red pepper, black pepper, yellow color and chili garlic sauce and keep it aside.
  2. Then heat oil in pan, fry onion until golden brown and keep it aside.
  3. Now add remaining onion in marinated chicken, fry for 1-2 minutes and cook more on low flame.
  4. Then put fried onion, tomato, green chilies, yogurt and coriander leaves in grinder and grind it.
  5. Remove chicken from stove, add oil, mix spices, grinded paste, salt, cumin, coriander, red chili powder and biryani masala, mix it nicely and fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Now boil rice with salt and water in other pot.
  7. When rice tender, separate water and divide into 2 portions.
  8. Then make layer of rice, gravy and chicken one by one, spread fried onion, dissolve yellow color in water, add it and top with saffron.
  9. In end, simmer it for 10-12 minutes and serve hot.
