Frozen Salad by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Crud 1/2 kg
  • Gelatin 2 tbsp
  • Tomato deseeded 1
  • Capsicum deseeded 1
  • Cucumber deseeded 1
  • Green chilies chopped 2
  • Mint leaves chopped 1 tbsp
  • Pomegranate seeds 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp
  • Apple, Tomato, Iceberg lettuce for garnish

Method:

  1. Beat curd and season with salt, sugar, red chili powder, chaat masala and cumin powder.
  2. Add 1/2 cup water to gelatin and let it soften.
  3. Then heat gently and let it dissolve, don't let it boil.
  4. Let it cool a bit and incorporate with curd with electric batter.
  5. Add cucumber, tomato, capsicum and mint to curd.
  6. Add half pomegranate seeds also.
  7. Pout into lightly oiled ring mold and freeze till set about 4 hours.
  8. Turn out on plate surrounded by your salad of apple, tomato and iceberg lettuce.
  9. Serve with biryani.
