Ingredients:

  • Chicken boneless 1 kg
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Rice 50 gm
  • Mong lentil 50 gm
  • Masoor lentil 50 gm
  • Mash lentil 50 gm
  • Chana lentil 50 gm
  • Wheat 50 gm
  • Barley 25 gm
  • Onion 2
  • Ginger paste 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Red chili 2 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Nutmeg and mace powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Mint leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Lemon juice as required
  • Finely chopped ginger as required
  • Green chilies 8-10
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Onion for garnish
  • Chaat masala for garnish

Method:

  1. Soak all lentils overnight.
  2. Now boil wheat, barley and chana lentil.
  3. Cut chicken into small small pieces.
  4. For korma: Heat oil in pot and fry onion until light brown.
  5. Now add chicken, ginger paste and garlic paste and mix it nicely.
  6. Then add all spice powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, nutmeg & mace powder, red chili, turmeric, salt and whole green chilies and put whipped yogurt.
  7. Mix all ingredients nicely and roast it.
  8. Korma is ready.
  9. For lentils: Put water in pot, put all lentils and rice, mix it nicely, cover it and cook until tender.
  10. For mixing: Put lentil mixture and korma in chopped and chop it.
  11. Then put in pot, add water and stir it.
  12. Now take out haleem in serving bowl.
  13. Then garnish with brown onion, ginger, coriander leaves, mint leaves, chaat masala and lemon juice and serve.

Chicken Haleem is tasty dish. It is common recipe in Pakistan. It is prepared with four lentils, chicken, wheat and barley. Garnished with mint & coriander leaves, chaat masala, ginger & brown onion and served with naan.
