Ingredients:

  • Pigeon peas split boiled 2 cup
  • Potato 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Green peas 1 cup
  • Tomatoes 250 gm
  • Curry leaves 10
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves, Green chilies as required

For Tempering:

  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Button red chilies 10

Method:

  1. Put potato, carrot, peas, tomatoes, curry leaves, salt, carom seeds and red chili powder in pigeon lentil and cook on low flame.
  2. When tender, add lemon juice.
  3. Then put coriander leaves and green chilies.
  4. For tempering: Heat oil, put all ingredients, fry it and give tarka to daal.
  5. Then sprinkle coriander leaves and green chilies and serve.
