Fish Masala is popular dish in Pakistan. You can make it at home easily. It is prepared with in all season.

Ingredients:

For Fish:

  • Fish 2 kg
  • Lemon juice 3 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Vinegar  as required
  • Oil as required

For Masala:

  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
  • Cloves 5
  • Ginger paste 1/2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Lemon juice 3
  • Green chilies 3-4
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bunch

Direction:

  1. For fish: Clean fish and wash it nicely.
  2. Then put lemon juice, turmeric, salt and vinegar and leave for 5 minutes.
  3. Then heat little oil in wok and fry fish until golden brown.
  4. For masala: Heat oil in pan, put fenugreek seeds and cloves, fry until aroma comes and remove from stove.
  5. Then put yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, ginger paste, garlic paste and salt in bowl and mix it nicely.
  6. Then heat oil in wok, put yogurt masala and roast it nicely.
  7. When masala is roasted, put fried fish and curry leaves and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Then put 2 cups water and cook it.
  9. When oil comes up, put coriander leaves, green chilies, lemon juice and garam masala powder and shake pan until it is mixed nicely.
  10. Then simmer it for 5 minutes.
  11. When ready, take out in serving dish and serve with cooked rice.

Fish Masala is tasty dish. Masala is prepared with yogurt & spice and roasted in oil. Then cooked with fish, mixed with lemon juice, green chilies & coriander leaves and simmered. Served with cooked rice.
