Spicy Fish Curry by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients for Spicy Fish Curry:

  • Fish fillet 1/2 kg
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Chopped onion 1 large
  • Onion seed 1  tsp
  • Dry red chilies 6
  • Chopped garlic 2 tsp
  • Chopped tomatoes 2
  • Desiccated coconut 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Heat oil, add onions and fry until soft.
  2. Add onion, dry red chilies and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes, coconut, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder and chili powder.
  4. Cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the fish pieces along with water, cook, until fish is tender and water has almost evaporated.
  6. Mix in lemon juice and chopped coriander.
  7. Serve with hot rice.
