Ingredients:

  • Red beans 1 cup
  • Kabuli chickpeas 1 cup
  • Red lentil 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind pulp 1 cup
  • Tomato sauce 1 cup
  • Tomato puree 1/2 can
  • Green chilies julienne 8-10
  • Soda bi carbonate 1 tsp
  • Dried ginger 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds roasted 1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemons 2
  • Mint leaves chopped 1 bunch
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Crushed red chili 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash red beans with lukewarm water and soak it.
  2. Wash chickpeas with lukewarm water and soak it.
  3. Then drain water of red beans, put again lukewarm water and cook it,
  4. When it tender nicely, remove it.
  5. Boil chickpeas like this.
  6. Also cook red lentil.
  7. When chickpea tender, put soda.
  8. Now heat oil in pot, put red beans, fry it lightly and put tomato sauce, red chili and salt.
  9. After 5 minutes, put chickpeas, tomato puree, dried ginger, cumin and tamarind pulp and cook on low flame.
  10. After 5 minutes, add green chilies and simmer it.
  11. Then put onion, mint leaves, lemon juice and few green chilies and serve.
