Sesame Chicken by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Sesame oil 1 dash
  • Flour 2 tbsp
  • Corn Flour 2 tbsp
  • Baking powder 1/4 tsp
  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Boneless chicken breast cubed 4
  • Chicken stock 1 cup
  • White vinegar 1/4 cup
  • Corn flour 1/4 cup
  • Caster sugar 1 cup
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Sesame Oil 2 tbsp
  • Red chili paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic minced 1 clove
  • Toasted sesame seeds 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Mix soya sauce, sesame oil, flour, cornflour, water, baking powder, baking soda and oil in bowl.
  2. Mix well, stir in chicken.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in deep pan.
  5. Mix 1/2 cup water, chicken stock, vinegar, 1/4 cup cornflour, sugar, 2 tbsp soya sauce, 2 tbsp sesame oil, red chili paste and garlic in small saucepan.
  6. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  7. Turn heat to low and keep warm, stirring occasionally.
  8. Fry marinated chicken in batches until cooked through and golden brown.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
  10. Transfer chicken to large platter, top with sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Sesame Chicken is Sweet Main Course. It is commonly found in Chinese Restaurant. It has Sweetness of Caster Sugar.
