Balti Daal Desi Tarka

Ingredients:

  • Boiled chana daal 1-1/2 cup
  • Boiled mash daal 1 cup
  • Tomatoes 250 gm
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red chili 1-1/2 tsp
  • Jaggery 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1
  • Mustard 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp

For Desi Tarka:

  • Onion 1
  • Garlic cloves 4
  • Curry leaves 4
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Desi ghee 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies, Coriander leaves as required

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pot and fry onion until golden brown.
  2. Now put tomatoes, turmeric, red chili, jaggery, mustard and water and cover it.
  3. When it tender, add both daal and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Then take out in dish and put green chilies and coriander leaves.
  5. For tarka: Heat ghee and fry onion until brown.
  6. Then add garlic cloves, curry leaves and cumin.
  7. When aroma comes, put on daal.
  8. Delicious balti daal desi tarka is ready.

Balti Daal Desi Tarka is delicious dish. Prepared with chana daal and mash daal. Given onion garlic tarka, garnished with green chilies & coriander leaves and serve with rice.
