Ingredients:

  • Eggs 4
  • Sugar 4 oz
  • Maida 4 oz
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Vanilla 1 tsp
  • Pineapple slice as required

For Icing and Filling:

  • Fruit cocktail 1 tin
  • Cherries 12
  • Whipped cream 12 oz

Method:

  1. Beat eggs with sugar until double.
  2. Now put vanilla essence and fold maida and baking powder.
  3. Then put mixture in 2x8 inch greased round pan, bake on 180 degrees C for 25 minutes, take it out and cool it.
  4. For filling: Beat cream and add sugar.
  5. Put fruit cocktail syrup on cake layer.
  6. Now spread beaten cream, make second layer of cake, brush with syrup, spread more cream, decorate with fruit cocktail and cherries and serve.

Fruit Gateau is delightful dessert. Cake is prepared with maida and baked. Filled with fruit cocktail syrup and decorated with cream and fruit cocktail
