Spicy Fish Cubes by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:

  • Boneless fish ½ kg
  • Malt or plain vinegar 1/2 cup
  • Gram flour 1 cup
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Egg 1
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger paste 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Oil to deep fry
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp
  • Lemon wedges 6-8

Method:

  1. Marinate fish cubes in vinegar for twenty minutes
  2. Remove from vinegar and pat them dry.
  3. Make batter of gram flour, yogurt, egg, carom seeds, salt, lemon juice, red chilli powder, ginger paste and garlic paste.
  4. Keep fish cubes in this marinade for about twenty minutes
  5.  Heat sufficient oil in wok and deep-fry fish till golden brown and crisp.
  6. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve hot, sprinkled with chaat masala and lemon wedges.
