Bengali Meethi Dal

Ingredients:

  • Red lentil 250 gm
  • Orange lentil 100 gm
  • Dry or Fresh fenugreek 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 5-6
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tbsp
  • Whole red chilies 4-5
  • Butter 4 tbsp
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Put both lentils in pot.
  2. Then put red chili powder, turmeric, all spice powder, salt, ginger garlic paste and some water and cook it.
  3. Now put oil in pan, fry fenugreek, fry for 1-2 minutes or roast fenugreek on tawa, put in lentils and cook for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Then mash it, add green chilies, mix it nicely and cover for 5 minutes.
  5. Then take out lentils in serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Bengali Meethi Dal is delicious & little bit different dish. It is prepared with red & orange lentil.
