Fig Date Nut Bread

Ingredients:

  • Buttermilk 3/4 cup
  • Lemon rind 1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg powder 1/4 tsp
  • Cloves powder 1/8 tsp
  • Chopped dried fig 3/4 cup
  • Chopped seeded dates 1/3 cup
  • Packed brown sugar 1/2 cup
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Eggs 2
  • Whole wheat flour 3/4 cup
  • Maida 3/4 cup
  • Baking soda 1-1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1/8 tsp
  • Chopped walnuts 1/3 cup

Method:

  1. Put first 4 ingredients in saucepan and cook until bubble comes.
  2. Now remove from stove, add fig and sates.
  3. Then keep for 20 minutes or until fruits are soft.
  4. Now whisk oil, sugar and eggs together and blend it nicely.
  5. Then mix in cold milk mixture.
  6. Now put wheat flour, maida, baking soda and salt in bowl and combine it.
  7. Then mix milk mixture in maida mixture and mix until moist.
  8. Now put batter in greased loaf pan.
  9. Now put walnuts on batter.
  10. Then bake in oven on 180 degrees C for 40 minutes or till skewer inserted comes out clean.
  11. Then keep on wire wrack and cook for 10 minutes.
  12. Now take out from pan and cool it completely.

Fig Date Nut Bread is amazing bread. It is little bit different bread. Buttermilk, wheat flour, dates, fig and walnuts are used. You must try this bread.
