Sweet and Sour Fish Recipe

Sweet and Sour Fish is tasty and sweet main course dish. Must try this fish recipe for change.

Ingredients:

For Fish:

  • Fish 1 kg
  • All-purpose flour 2 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp

For Sweet n Sour Sauce:

  • Crushed garlic 2 tsp
  • Crushed ginger 2 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup 1 cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • White pepper powder 1 tsp
  • White vinegar 4 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Chicken stock 2 cups
  • All-purpose flour 3 tbsp
  • Carrot chopped 1
  • Capsicum cubes 1
  • Onion cubes 2
  • Ginger grated 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato cubes 2
  • Pineapple chunks & juice 1 can
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame oil 2 tsp
  • Oil as required

Direction:

  1. For fish: Cut fish into bit size pieces.
  2. Then put fish, soya sauce and 2 tbsp all-purpose flour in bowl, mix it and leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Then heat oil in deep frying pan.
  4. Then put fish pieces and deep fry until golden brown.
  5. Then take it out and keep on absorbent paper to drain excess oil.
  6. For sweet n sour sauce: Heat oil in wok and sauté ginger and garlic.
  7. Then add tomato ketchup, red chili powder and sugar and cook it stirring occasionally.
  8. Now add chicken stock, white pepper, white vinegar, soya sauce and bring to boil.
  9. Then mix corn flour with little water, put in sauce little at a time and cook until thick stirring occasionally.
  10. Then heat oil in pan, add capsicum, tomato, onion and carrot and cook for few minutes on low flame.
  11. Then put vegetables, pineapple chunks and pineapple juice in sauce and mix it nicely.
  12. Then transfer deep fried fish on serving dish, pour sweet & sour sauce on fish and serve hot with cooked rice.

Sweet and Sour Fish is tasty dish. Fish pieces is mixed with soya sauce & all-purpose flour and deep fried. Then sauce is prepared with tomato ketchup, spices, chicken stock, corn flour mixture, mix vegetables & pineapple and cooked. Then poured on fried dish and served with boiled rice.
