Ingredients:

  • Bottle gourd 1 cup
  • Yellow lentils 1/2 cup
  • Grated ginger 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice as required
  • All spice powder 1 pinch
  • Coriander leaves as required
  • Butter 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilies 1 tbsp
  • Chopped green chilies 2-3
  • Julienne ginger 1 tbsp

Direction:

  1. Cook bottle gourd and lentil in pressure cooker with little water.
  2. Add lemon juice all spice powder and coriander leaves.
  3. Mix once and put in serving dish.
  4. Heat butter, add cumin seeds, red chilies, green chilies and ginger.
  5. Put on lentils and serve with plain roti, paratha or bread.

Lauki Dal is tasty dish. Bottle gourd and yellow lentil are cooked in pressure cooker. Then green chilies, red chilies & ginger are cooked in butter and poured over daal. Serve with roti or paratha or bread.
